Delhi Auto Expo 2012: Many New Cars, Bikes & Scooters showcased

Delhi Auto Expo 2012 is being held in Pargati Maidan, New Delhi. Many Indian and foreign companies showcased their new and improved models in the auto expo. It is one of the largest automotive shows in India.

Many new players like Peugeot Citeron, Isuzu, Kamaz Vectra, Garware Motors, Daimler Commercial Vehicles etc are getting ready to enter the Indian Auto market.


We will try to cover some of the main and important launches of the auto expo.

Maruti Suzuki unveiled its Ertigo - a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). It will be a 7 seater (2+3+2) car and will be available in both petrol and diesel engines. Price Bracket will be around 6-9 Lac.

French Automaker Renault come up with Pulse priced between 5.77 Lac to 6.25 Lac. They are also planning to launch Duster by this Diwali in Indian Market.

Bajaj Auto launched its much awaited RE60. But its look doesn’t seem very attractive and it will be interesting to see which segment of consumers it will attract.

Toyota also showcased its modified Innova version. They also give a glimpse of Camry which will be available in the 3rd quarter of the year. They also launched the New Fortuner with many interior and exterior changes. Toyota also launched mid sized hybrid sedan Prius.

Tata motors is going to launch its Nano in CNG version. Tata Motors also launched Tata Safari Storm with many changes. They also showcased different other vehicles in the auto show. They also unveiled concept car, the Pixel.

General Motors India unveiled its 2 models named Chevrolet Sail premium and Chevrolet MPV concept at the auto expo.

Ford launched its much anticipated Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Eco Sport. It seems that this model will give a tough competition to Maruti Suzuki’s Ertigo.

BMW launched its M5 in India and Audi launched Q3 SUV and A3 E-tron.

Yamaha showcased its concept scooter Ray. With this launch, Yamaha is now present in all the major segments of the two wheelers.

Higher end priced bike maker Triumph entered Indian market with the launch of its seven models ranging from a price of 5.5 Lac to 22 Lac. It will be available in all major cities of India.

Hero Motor Cops also unveiled its first hybrid concept scooter with name Leap. Hero launched several other bike models.

The 11th Auto Expo is very successful in many ways. Many new companies entered the Indian auto market. Different companies showcased many eco friendly, fuel efficient and high end stylish cars and bikes.


In recent time, tourism has emerged as an important sector for generating employment, reducing poverty and improving infrastructure in different areas.
