As the winter spreads its wings in the Chandigarh region, Sukhna Lake became home to a large number of migratory birds such as Storks, Cranes and Ducks etc. This time these birds have come in huge count.

It’s a beautiful sight to see such a large number of birds floating in the lake. This year, they had come in a record high number, may be because of the reasons like good water level of the lake, sunny days, winter at par etc.

It seems a good time to visit the Sukhna Lake especially for the bird and nature lovers. One can enjoy watching these birds floating in groups, searching their food, fluttering their wings in the air, taking dips in the water in style, in search of food.

These birds have classic colour combinations, some purely white, some with black wings from outside and white wings from inside, which give a shining silver tinge when they take a flight and some just opposite of it. Sometime, these birds show their speed on water by spreading their wings in the air and their body and legs in the water.

The visitors should remember taking a good quality camera with them to capture these wonderful moments so that they can keep these moments with them for long.

Sukhna Lake otherwise also known for its scenic beauty with good location, located in the foothills of the kausali hilly region, surrounded by forests on the lake’s two sides.

The bird’s lovers should plan their visit to the lake to enjoy these migratory bird watching and capturing them in their cameras.
