Bollywood legend Dev Anand passes away

Bollywood’s Evergreen Romantic superstar, Dev Anand has passed away at the age of 88 in London on this Saturday night due to cardiac arrest. He was in London for the medical check up but he was not feeling well from last few days.

Dev Anand made his debut in Bollywood in 1946 with the film ‘Hum Ek Hain’. The versatile actor became famous in just one year by the time his movie ‘Ziddi’ released in the next year.


Dev Anand gave Indian cinema many hit movies like Paying Guest, Baazi, Jewel Thief, CID, Johny Mera Naam, Amir Garib, Warrant, Des Pardesh etc.

He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 2001 and Dada Saheb Phalke award in 2002 for his outstanding contribution to the Indian cinema.

He has produced more than 35 movies from his own production house named Navketan International Films. He won many other awards in his career and one of his movies ‘Guide’ was nominated for Oscars. He got “life time achievement Filmfare award” in the year 1993.

He dominated almost 50 years as an actor in the Indian cinema. He was popular among all the segments of the society.

He will be well known for his versatile personality, outstanding acting and young heart for forever.
