US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton completed her three day visit of India. During her visit, she met important leaders like PM Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna etc. She discussed all the important aspects of politics and economy.

In the joint press conference, she adviced India to reduce oil imports from Iran so that pressure can be putted on Iran to stop its nuclear developments. It will be interesting to see how India takes her advice as Iran is one of the main suppliers of oil to India.


She also discussed the issue of FDI in retail sector but nothing concrete is being decided on the issue till now. Both sides agreed to deepen their trade ties in future.

She also discussed the role of Pakistan based terrorist groups in the attacks on Afghanistan and India. She explained that Jalaluddin-Sirajuddin Haqqani network is much bigger threat than the Taliban in the coming time. US is ready to take important steps to stop terrorism.

Although her visit is being taken as symbolic one but she used it to make the platform for the future sumits on different issues.


In recent time, tourism has emerged as an important sector for generating employment, reducing poverty and improving infrastructure in different areas.
